Shanti is an anesthesiologist and an interventional pain physician practicing in and serving the Greater Metro Phoenix area as well as the City of Yuma, Arizona. He graduated from the anesthesiology program at The prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then completed an interventional pain management and a palliative care fellowship from the world-renown University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Shanti spent 5 years at Harvard Medical School Affiliated Hospitals where he conducted post-doctoral research fellowship in Neuroscience and published several scientific papers. He became the director of pain medicine at the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and was the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center chief of pain medicine for several years. Dr. Shanti remains very active in the scientific community. He has published many articles, abstracts, and presented several scientific papers and posters in the field of anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Shanti, a multi-lingual, lectures about pain medicine in several countries including Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Morocco, and others, in addition to the U.S.A. Dr. Shanti comes from a highly educated family that not only emphasizes on education and science but also the respect of human life and dignity. These high morals dictate Dr. Shanti's day to day philosophy in treating his patients and enable him to deliver the best care with passion. As the years passed and his experience matured, his pain medicine practice started focusing on the overall wellness of his patients rather than their pain complaints.
When not working, Dr. Shanti enjoys traveling, catching up with friends and family and enjoying ethnic foods and cuisines
