About Dr. Bilal F. Shanti, MD

 "My goal is to minimize your pain and restore or improve your function. I believe that every legitimate modality should be tried to restore your functionality and productivity. I treat every patient the way I want to be treated."  Dr. Shanti is an anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician practicing in and serving the Greater Metro Phoenix area. He graduated from the prestigious anesthesiology program at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed interventional pain management and a palliative care fellowships from the world-renown University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Shanti spent years at Harvard Medical School Affiliated Hospitals conducting post-doctoral research fellowship in Neuroscience and published several scientific papers. He was the director of pain medicine at the Department of Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and was the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center chief of pain medicine for years. Dr. Shanti remains active in the scientific community and has published over 45 articles and abstracts in various scientific magazines. He presented several scientific papers/posters in the field of anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Shanti is a multi-lingual and lectures about pain medicine in several countries including Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Morocco, and the USA.   Dr. Shanti comes from a highly respected and educated family that  emphasizes on discipline, education, science, and respect of human dignity. These morals dictate his day-to-day philosophy in treating his patients and enable him to do his job with compassion and honor. As his experience  matured, he started focusing on the overall related wellness of his patients rather than their pain complaints only.  When not working, Dr. Shanti enjoys traveling, catching up with friends and family and enjoying ethnic foods and cuisines.
